Colt M1911A1 [Automatic Pistol]:
A large caliber single action semi automatic pistol, originally made for the US army, and introduced in 1911. It has done service for most of a century before being replaced with the Beretta M92 amongst much controversy. Numerous weapon manufacturers make a M1911 pistol, with Springfield Arms being the most common after Colt. There are also multiple companies that do special work on the M1911A1 including adding venting to the barrel for high stability.
The standard magazine holds 7 rounds, but aftermarket versions that hold 9 or 10 rounds are available. Although originally made for the .45 ACP cartridge, it is also made in .38 Super, and compact versions are also available as well. Colt has some newer verion of the 1911A1 that is labeled as the Colt Commander and Colt Combat Elite that has a standard eight tround magazine.
