Carbine (Short Barrel) type Weapons:

Short Barrel Carbine type weapons are rifles designed with shorter barrels for easier storage, handling and are lighter weight. Generally, they inflict the same damage as the full length version of the weapon but have a reduced range. They are often preferred by Special Forces who prefer a smaller weapon, for use inside of vehicles, and in urban environment. These rules do not include weapons which are already effectively short Carbine style weapons.

Rules:
Retain damage and number of shots per E-clip unmodified
Reduce mass by 1.1 lbs (0.5 kgs)
Reduce range by 1/3 (for example: a rifle with 1500 ft [457.2 meter] range would be reduced to 1000 ft [304.8 meter] range.)
Cost generally remain the same as well.
